Bride: The Wedding Show sees an inspirational weekend at Westpoint Exeter
Posted on 27th March 2018
The second spring edition of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter proved another highly successful weekend for South West couples.
Taking place on 24-25 March, Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter saw crowds of brides- and grooms-to-be flocking to the venue for a weekend of wedding planning, inspiration and entertainment
Exeter’s Westpoint Arena was transformed into a wedding wonderland for the weekend, and more than 130 handpicked wedding professionals were on hand to showcase their products and services. Couples were spoiled for choice, with bridal boutiques, cakemakers, stationers, entertainers, caterers, photographers and more among the roster of suppliers. Before entering the venue, couples passed through a marquee of wedding transport, which featured an array of stunning vehicles.
First time exhibitor Laura Parker, who owns All Floral, said: “As first-time exhibitors, Bride: The Wedding Show provided a superb platform to showcase our floral props to many brides and grooms. The weekend completely exceeded our expectations and we were overwhelmed with bookings, all of which we are excited to be working on. We will definitely be at the best wedding show in the South West again.”
Sam Brown, owner of bridalwear boutique Browns of Totnes, agreed: “Once again Bride: The Wedding Show was a blast. With hundreds of brides scoping out potential businesses, we got a chance represent what Browns of Totnes is about and the styles we love. We had incredible feedback after the fashion show and made in excess of 30 appointments. Fabulous.”
The first 100 brides through the door on each day of the event received a free goody bag that included samples from various suppliers, and every bride was gifted a complimentary copy of South West Bride magazine. A glossy showguide was also available, with details of every exhibitor, show-exclusive deals and discounts as well as some amazing competitions. Couples could rest their feet and peruse their free magazines in the relaxed champagne area.
For those looking for the perfect wedding entertainment, the music stage in the café area was the place to be. Attendees enjoyed incredible performances from The Swing Kings, Double A & The Bay and Joe Dostal Music. On the other side of the venue, a sensational catwalk show took place three times each day and featured bridalwear, menswear and occasionwear from Pirouette, Young’s Hire, 14 & Sixpence, Jane’s of Torquay and City Dress Exeter, TL Bridal, Browns of Totnes, Zebel Bespoke and Lovely Bridal.
“I really enjoyed the fashion show – and particularly the men,” said bride-to-be Danielle Sedgeman from Cornwall. “The dresses were also lovely. In terms of entertainment, I absolutely loved The Swing Kings; they’re amazing. There was a nice large variety of exhibitors at the show which was great, and the atmosphere was really relaxed and friendly.”
Bride-to-be Hannah Davis, from Portsmouth, also enjoyed the show: “I really enjoyed the show and the variety of suppliers available. It was great to be able to meet wedding suppliers face-to-face and work out whether we had a connection or not. You can’t do that when you’re talking to people online, so that was probably my favourite thing about the day.”
Bride: The Wedding Show returns to Westpoint Exeter for it’s autumn edition on 13-14 October. Tickets are now on sale for £5 each or £15 for a group of four in advance. Buy your tickets now.
