A show-stopping weekend at Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter
Posted on 10th October 2017
Bride: The Wedding Show saw thousands of brides, grooms and their guests return to Westpoint Exeter for its autumn edition.
Running from October 7-8, Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Exeter did not disappoint – welcoming more than 4,000 visitors to Exeter for an unforgettable weekend of wedding planning.
More than 160 local suppliers turned out in force to showcase their products and services, with bridal boutiques, menswear providers, cakemakers, stationers, caterers, entertainers, photographers, venues and more among the illustrious roster of wedding professionals. There was also a marquee of wedding transport featuring a host of stand-out vehicles, which visitors passed as they queued for entry.
The first 100 brides through the door on both days of the event received a goody bag with products and samples, and all brides were gifted a complimentary copy of South West Bride magazine. The perks didn’t stop there with show-exclusive deals, discounts and competitions awaiting visitors in the main arena.
Attendees enjoyed sensational performances from Superstition Band, Blue Lion Band, I Love Amp and Double A & The Bay on the café stage, while the catwalk shows served to further entertain the crowds. Running at three times during each day, the catwalk featured dresses from Lovely, Sassi Holford, The Ivory Secret, Pirouette, and Kate Walker Bridal; bridesmaids’ dresses from Jane’s of Torquay; occasionwear from John Lewis; and menswear from Youngs Hire, Jonathan Hawkes and Moss Bros.
Commenting on the catwalk, visitors Jodie Bowden and John Parker from Newton Abbott, said: “We absolutely loved it; it was awesome. The men’s dancing on the catwalk was really good and entertaining. We have got loads of ideas from the event. I think we’ve picked our photographer today. We came with nothing planned and no expectations, but we’ve got some really useful ideas.”
Exhibitors, both new and old were equally thrilled with the success of the event. Helena Willford was there to exhibit her stationery and said: “It was my first time at the show and a great experience for my business. There were so many people and lots of interest with a great flow, especially on the Sunday. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was great for the couples and their families visiting.”
Returning exhibitor, Charlotte Crews, owner of The Cake Lady, said: “This was our sixth year at Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint and yet again, it didn’t disappoint. There were hundreds of couples looking to source details for their wedding. I love this show as the majority of visitors are there to book. We took loads of emails to supply quotes and had great feedback on our stand. We have already booked for the next two shows and can’t wait. Thanks for a wonderful show.”
